The Secretariat of the Network for Sustained Elimination of Iodine Deficiency (the Network) is a supporting unit of the Network and the point of contact with the Network. The Secretariat has officially moved from Emory University to The Micronutrient Initiative in June 2004.

The Secretariat carries out a number of core activities, undertaking tasks decided by the Network Board, or based on its own initiative as outlined in the agreed secretariat work plan.

The delivery of services and programs of the Network are directed through the member organizations .   The Network Secretariat coordinates and informs the actions of members to make their individual actions more effective and mutually supportive. All decisions on actions by the Network are by consensus of its members.
