Countries in Focus
The Network focuses its efforts where it can provide most value-added to the work of its own members. The Network has identified four criteria to help prioritize countries for its support 2005-2010. These are:
Countries with high numbers of unprotected infants
Countries with low iodized salt coverage
Countries that export salt to other countries
Countries where salt supply comes from small scale producers
The Network's strategy is to use the four criteria to identify those countries where its support, especially at the national level can most make a difference.
Implementation of the strategy may be pursued by the Network collaboratively or may be implemented by one or more Network members taking the lead, in accordance with an agreement reached by all members of the Network Board.
